Shock Dance Company
The SHOCK Dance Company was founded in 2013 when owner, Lindley Mayer Gulledge returned home from pursuing her career in Los Angeles, CA. This company is Shock's competitive performing company and we offer hardworking and motivated dancers the opportunity to showcase their talents, dedication and showmanship at a higher level. It is an audition-based, pre-professional dance company that offers driven students, ages 6 and up; with the desire to train at a progressive pace, the unique chance to be a part of one or more of our award winning performance groups that perform the styles of Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Tap and more.
Our goal is to increase technical skills, gain performance quality and train dancers to be the best they can be. We also are not only training these dancers in the field that they are passionate about, but so much more. We encourage our dancers each day to be true to who they are, follow their dreams and give back to the community.
Along with Shock's already experienced staff, we bring in Nationally acclaimed professional choreographers/instructors throughout the season to ensure the best possible training. It is our mission to provide young dancers with a comprehensive, diverse dance education that fosters excellence in technical performance, freedom in artistic creation and expression. We also encourage greater awareness and deeper understanding of the impact of the art of dance on both the dancers themselves, and on their audiences, all in an uplifting, nurturing and organized environment. Our company dancers train year round the goal of the SHOCK company is to develop dancers who possess technical proficiency, an incredible level of sportsmanship.
